Re: INVITATION TO ATTEND 2016 NELSON MANDELA DAY SYMPOSIUM
The United Nations Association of Nigeria (UNAN) is a non-governmental organisation and member of the Geneva-based World Federation of the United Nations Associations (WFUNA). We are the peoples’ movement for the United.
The Association, founded by the Late Prof. Babatunde Fafunwa currently draws her membership from the public including Seasoned Diplomats, Professionals, proponents of global peace & security and Youths. The headquarters is in Lagos.
As part of her activities in 2016, the Association is planning a Symposium to be held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, 13/15 Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos on Tuesday 19th July, 2016. The Symposium is expected to cover the following topics:
- International Terrorism & Maintenance of Global Peace and Security
- Students & Maintenance of International Peace and Security
- Nelson Mandela as a ‘Great Personality of Peace’: Lessons in Leadershipfor Global Peace and Security
- Awareness & Prevention of HIVIAIDS: The Role of International Personalities
The programme which is being planned to be implemented in collaboration with NIIA, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) and the South African High Commission in Lagos will hold between 10AM and 2.00pm.
